Basic Player Guide
This Guide will teach you all the Basics you need to know to play the Game as a good Player.

General Game Settings
There are some Basic Settings existing in the Game which you should adjust to make sure that you can keep up with the Outfit, stay informed and dive into the real Planetside 2 Gameplay
General Settings
Disable the “Auto - join squad on login” option - Being in a random squad prevents you from being invited to a proper squad like the ones lead by ELME.
Interface
Disable "Show Kill Spam" - The kill feed in the upper right corner is not very useful but is known cause performance issues.
Empire coloring
The Empire color scheme in the game makes it easier to distinguish between opponents and friendlies:
- keep the facilities and territory on Enemy vs Ally.
- keep the players color on Enemy vs Ally.
Which will make different factions in red and the same faction in blue.
Audio
The game audio defaults are very loud, which makes it hard to listen to the voice chat. Make sure you adjust the settings to your liking. Here are some recommendations:
- Master volume < 0.4
- Music volume < 0.3
- SFX volume < 0.3
- Dialog volume < 0.4
- Maximum voice channels = 120
Voice
To ensure your best in-Game Voice quality and be able to listen to commands we recommend the following settings:
- Master receive volume = 50
- Master transmit volume = 50
- Microphone volume = 80 - 90
- Ducking = 50 or higher.
The higher the number, the dimmer most SFX when someone uses the voice chat.
Purchasing Gear
- Most of the Basic Vehicle Weapon Sights or Upgrades just cost you 1 Cert or are already included they Improve your Gameplay already!
- Each Weapon has just a differnet kind of playstyle and a different Feature set. You don't need to buy them directly Trial them and ask us for help!
Voice Comms Check
If you experience problems in voice quality or got the impression you are missing commands or can't be heard by others, there are some things which can be done.
- While pressing the Key for Proxy Chat is "Proxy Chat" showing up?
- Check your Mic Settings with the integrated Test System
- If no Voice is showing Up. Do the "Reset All" in Voice Settings.
- Do a Comms Check with Squad or Team Mates in Game
- Still not working? Do the Process of resetting the Voice again
- If you cant hear a particular player, check the "Social - Voice and Chat Tabs" you can see muted/ignored players as well a volume slider which can be adjusted per player.

Important Hotkeys
The Game itself has several Keybindings and some of them are really important to either help your friendlies or be faster on some actions as Player.
Redeployment
- Press J to join a base/area where the action is. Also called Instant action. [Countdown 10s]
- Press U to Redeploy. After the 10s countdown you will enter the big map and be able to pick where to spawn. Possible spawn options will be listed on the left side of the screen.
Map
- Press H to enlarge the minimap.
- Change the zoom of the minimap by using the mousewheel.
- Press M to open the big (continental) map. Pressing M after death will show the big map + spawn option list on the left side of screen.
Chat
- Press Enter to open the chat box.
- Press Ctrl+tab to cycle the chat box.
- Press Backspace to reply to a whisper/tell.
Squad Platoon Outfit
- Press P to open the Squad/Platoon page, to see the Squad list in more detail.
- Press O to open the Outfit page. Which consist of Home, Armory and Outfit Wars tabs.
- You can find the Minimap on the left corner of the screen with your current squad list next to it.
Additional Keys
- Press Q to mark enemies both infantries or vehicles.
- Press left Alt to bring up the mouse cursor.
- Press Tab to open the scoreboard and current session progress window.

Writing “+1” in the outfit chat in-game is the basic command for requesting a squad invite to our squads or platoons if there is one available.
